Oh where to begin, 2 weeks ago we set out on a journey to CT to pick up Margaret the domestic treadle, do you realize how many "goodie" stores are from central NY to CT, lots! Good thing we only stopped at a few and picked up three beautiful machines on the way! This top photo is of the fantastic stitches "sage" the kenmore made after many hours of oiling and freeing her up so she could hum! She is our first for sale machine! (her photo appears below as does her nice table) but first some other treasures...
A cute 1938 featherweight, Delphia named after Neils grandmother who spent hours with her years ago! ( before Ems was born!)Dad P. asked if I had any interest in this black box with a tiny machine inside, I was jumping for joy as I knew the sweet machine it held! I love her, and hope this will be the machine future Pears will find delight in! Beside her is her big sister,(?) Neil big bargain of the weekend!!! He is so proud of this 301A longbed! And she is a nice one! Someone must have loved her dearly as she had everything with her including her case. Hope to give her a spa treatment this week, but we had her sewing a bit to see what she could do, she works terrific!!!
Here is Sage in all her glory. what a beautiful color!
A cute little 66k picked up in Mass. We hope to convert her to a handcrank soon, oh can you imagine!
You are looking at a photo of Sages cabinet! nice little stand , open top for magic inside!

These two photo show a work in progress! Neil's Moms original Viking, frozen solid with some fancy "grease used back in the 70's, we hope to put all those parts back if we can get her up from her long nap!

And here is Margaret! I say goodnight as I pass by her each night, some time soon I hope to give her a nice spa day and then see if I can treadle! Is the tension acorn cute or what? I am so amazed at the beautiful detail that each machine has! Notice the  beautiful log cabin quilt in the back ground, the very start of all this wonderfulness called sewing! It was given to me by Grandma Johnson and is said to be a quilt her grandmother made! I love it and often sit as my eyes dance over the tiny stitches and wonder what I would say to the maker of this big beauty. Did she quilt by candlelight on cold blustery winter nights or did she rise early and sneak in some quite time while the daily bread was rising along with the sun? If only the matter red fabric and chocolate prints could talk! :)
And the last photo for today my attempt to crochet! EEEks! I am tring to make some, even one of the spool pin doilies from Quiltvilles site! I did much better with the quilting stilettos and have 20 made! photo sometime to follow, for now I am off to sew on the last border of my quilt, may this be the beginning of much more productive weeks!
