These are a few of my favorite friends from the summer garden, they pop up all over added their smiley face to my landscape! We need a bit of color today as it is snowy, and gloomy outside.
Yum, also from the summer garden fresh blackberries! Just to tease you, actually we all need to eat a few of these to help our immune systems gear up before the flu hits!!!
The newest addition to the Perry sewing clan! A 95-1 industrial Singer, Gaspar, named after the man that owned him....a fun story as it was in a pts/friends home hidden and not very loved :( and she wanted it to go to another home... yippee for me! :) My Dad has already been showing Gaspar some love, Mom hand cranked the wheel so we could see it sew! It is a beauty, just needs some electrical work and a belt and this guy will be humming once again! The original Gaspar had been a Tailor in the city, and at West Point I think maybe during the 40's Wow what  history this guy has experienced! Imagine!
He is big and hefty when asking my DH how much he thought it weighed.......ALOT!!!!!

The goodies in the drawer!!! My favorite part! Labels with Gaspars name on them, barber sissors, Maybe he cut hair on his breaks!!!! and loads and loads of 88x1 #16 needles for the machine!
An update of the uncovering of Faith the red eye, her decals are beautiful and slowly becoming revealed!, Thanks to Turtle wax ter and bug remover, be careful as it will take off the decals on some of the pre 1900's machines!
A
Spoolies, how did I miss that post of Bonnies! So I have been kitting up a few so I have them ready by the machines!
A little how to I made for a friends birthday.....hummm I wonder which friend!
I do stamp...occasionally! This is the card for my upcoming exchange on the 28th! Yeah I am ahead and ready! :) Enjoy your week everyone, I am off to cut up some pretty fabric and chat with "all" the sewing gals I now own!!! Gaspar is loving it as he is the only guy!!! :)

Wow what a productive day! Here is the bobbin area of Faith the 66-16 Red Eye before I started spending many hours with her. I have finally gotten the bobbin/hook out and it is slowly becoming shinny.
This is the stash of goodies Faith had hiding in her drawers.....ohh it is like a treasure hunt finding such marvelous things! My Dad gobbled up a few items, the key unfortunately is just a random one, still on the hunt for an original Singer slanted drawer key!
Just because we all need things to love, sunshine and a little flower!
A pin found in the drawer of Faith, I have searched for information but find nothing yet.

Fabric two small pieces found in the drawer, so pretty I think i shall incorporate it into a pretty needle rest for her>
Yeah 9am and I started to focus and get the Easy Street blocks together, this photo also shows the beautiful thread box DH brought back from an auction yesterday. The side says Willimatic Thread which is where he grew up in Conn. "Thread City", if you visit they have a gorgeous bridge with huge granite spools of thread on it! I'll try to get a photo on my next trip to Ct.The sunset tulips DH brought home from his errand run, he thought we needed a touch of spring in the house, flowers just add a spark of pretty to any room :)
Here is another before of Faith, she is so covered in who knows what, found a helpful lady that suggested Turtle wax bug and tar cleaner, slowly i unearthed her beautiful decals, she is going to be amazing! I have a couple of friend who have discovered machines hidden in cabinets they forgot they had. I may just convert a few more vintage machine lovers!

All the above photos are of Jenny my recent purchase this weekend. She is a fiddle base with Victorian decals, 1889 is the date I found for her. She is the oldest so far and  it shows in her age, the decals are turning silver and the beautiful black is chipped all over.
I am glad I did not load anymore photo as my stool I was perched on just gave way! Eeeeks! I am awake now and thankful for my extra fluffy padding! See it can come in handy. Here is my quilt totally put together. It looks so amazing I can not believe I made it, now to quilt it, I'm thinking hand quilted with baptist fans. Thank you Bonnie Hunter for all you do , some day soon I hope to meet you! Off to sort some scraps and polish a bit on Faith! Have a terrific week!

Hopin for a productive Easy Street day!

Sorry I have not posted much this week, still working on the treadle red eye bobbin compartment which is very caked with thick black crud. Still have not named her, Faith seems to come to mind each time we sit down together to bring out her hidden beauty. I sit and imagine the history she has been through, she would have seen more than my Grandmother who was born in 1904 I believe. She lived to be 102 years old. She would come from the city when I was a child to visit the farm, she did not like it very much as she had special country clothes she would wear when she stayed. She did love to help my sisters and I sew dolly clothes, really tiny stitches! It is fun to remember the days of old!  Hoping to post my progress later today....sew....sew...sew! I' ll need to cover Faith as I tend to be drawn in her direction, and then hours slip into days. Happy Sunday everyone.

Here is Mom's finished squares, we did not sew the blocks together yet as it was one of those busy weekends, these are the best photos as we sewed at her house and the kithen floor was the best/biggest place for our scrumptious blocks.

I thought I was feeling a bit tipsy!!!  I think it was only 90* as Dad had both wood stoves roaring, whew!
Mom got creative and used the black and white directions from an apron kit, she was so excited to show us, there is a bit of I spy in each of our quilts so we challenged the college kids to find various things.

Close ups of Mom's blocks, such a mix of color and all scraps!( Good Stuff)
Here is mine I tend to love red, so I used olive greens, mustard yellows sky blues and Lots of Red!!! It turned out beautifully.

I hope to get some better photos once we have our blocks attached and quilted.....but that was put on hold as we moved DD from one dorm to another, why does she insist on the fourth floor :P on the way home DH and I poked around in a few antique stores, lots of quilts, and two sewing machines, a singer 15-99 in the cabinet and a red eye singer treadle which jumped into my Subaru hence the delay in sewing as I have been shining the cabinet up. Tomorrow I will post a photo as she is very tired from the journey and all the old english polish! Happy Monday Looking forward to Easy Street link up finish!!! :)

Mom's Easy Street/ Bonnie Hunter.....look at those flying geese dance!
Mine, of coarse it has red in it which is rather dark in this photo, I love it A huge thanks to Bonnie Hunter for inspiring so many of us fabric hoarders!....I swear my fabric is still mating!
Whew what a terrific way to spend the New Year Day # 1, moving fabric to and fro, watched the snow avalanche fall from the garage, I wonder if the boys thought the world was coming to and end, as they are still out making something with metal. Here is our next step set out now we have until the 7th to get them together, oh the dust bunnies will continue to grow here at the Perry Branch!
